Annual Community Picnic and Artist Paint Out
Details
Bring the whole family along to this popular annual event in the grounds of the Tweed Regional Gallery, with spectacular views to Wollumbin. Enjoy live music, free art activities for kids and make your own work en plein air.
Ron McBurnie and Jonathan McBurnie are the Gallery’s special guest artists for this year’s event. They will be on hand to mentor and chat with artists and visitors, or simply enjoy the opportunity to see them make work in response to this stunning landscape.
This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Margaret Olley’s birthday. Olley began her career as a landscapist and loved to work en plein air once saying
“Home is wherever my wicker basket happens to be… and it is always full of paint”.
Tweed Regional Museum’s new initiative Museum on Wheels (MoW) will be popping up and will feature en plein air artworks from our collection and by our guest artists.
So pack your picnic basket, a blanket and your paints and join us for an inspiring day of art, music, connection and community.
