Building a Collection, Sharing a Collection

Join us for this special event that honours the generosity of individuals who play a vital role in supporting the development and preservation of public art collections, ensuring their legacy for future generations. 
 
We will unveil an extraordinary gift from the Margaret Olley Art Trust to the Tweed Regional Gallery collection, in honour of previous Gallery Director Susi Muddiman’s invaluable service to the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. Preview additional artworks joining the display alongside Monet’s Meules, milieu du jour [Haystack’s, midday] 1890 courtesy of the National Gallery of Australia’s Sharing the National Collection initiative. This includes three works by Australia’s most celebrated artists, Margaret Olley, and a painting by the iconic Giorgio Morandi, one of Olley’s favourite painters of still life.

You’ll also preview our newest collection exhibition, A Delicate Terrain curated by Tina Wilson, Exhibitions Curator at the Tweed Regional Gallery. 

Indulge in refreshing beverages courtesy of supporter Husk Distillers, complemented by a selection of delicious canapés by Apex Dining, as you immerse yourself in art and mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and supporters.

Our esteemed guests for the evening include Philip Bacon AO, Trustee of the Margaret Olley Art Trust; Tracy Cooper-Lavery, Head, Art Across Australia at the National Gallery of Australia; Susi Muddiman OAM, Director, Gallery & Visual Arts at HOTA; and Uncle Victor Slockee.
